The Assistant General Manager is responsible for supporting the location General Manager in managing all operations of the location with a special emphasis on optical sales and upward movement into a General Manager position. In addition, this position will also be responsible for supporting the entire organization in several key areas which are listed below. This position is based in Lexington, NC and will serve as a floating manager in any one of our Triangle Visions locations. Assistant General Manager Location Responsibilities:
- Work with location General Manager and medical leadership to create a co-management environment.
- Support General Manager in oversight of all departments within an office.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement by identifying areas of inefficiency and taking corrective action.
- Greet all office guests in a professional and friendly manner.
- Interpret eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions written by our optometrists or referring doctors.
- Educate patients on their individual insurance coverage and options.
- Strong sense of fashion and trends to assist patients with selection of eyewear that compliments their style and personality.
- Understand how the patient uses their eyes on a daily basis to assist them in selecting the best lenses for their visual needs.
- Proper use of optical measurement devices including; pupilometer, pupillary distance ruler, and lensometer.
- Accurately process patient payment transactions using point of sale software.
- Dispense optical eyewear in accordance with professional standards that ensure a patient for life.
- Adjust and repair eyewear as needed.
- Efficiently move between all departments and offices as needed.
- Transition into Front Desk and Optometric Technician roles as needed to ensure minimum wait time for our patients
- All other duties as assigned by the location General Manager.
- Support General Managers in training and education of all departments
- Develop a Corporate Program to encourage CPO & CPOA certification.
- Provide M&A integration support in accordance with growth strategy execution.
- All other duties as assigned by corporate management
- AA or BA/BS desired
- Must be willing to get ABO certification
- CPO, CPOA/CPOT desired
- Must be willing to learn all three clinical positions of PSR, Optical, and Tech.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) and proven ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Ability to multitask, set priorities, and ensure that patient commitments/deadlines are met.
- Proficiency in utilization of automated equipment and systems standard to the optometry industry
